Some facts: It's the second city in Serbia, but by opinion of many, the most beautiful one. It has about a half of a million citizens.
In the past, it was a crucial point for the Roman Empire, and it was called Naissus. One of the greatest Roman empires, Constantine, was born in this very town.
During the WWI, Nis was the countries capital.
The river of Nisava, flows through it. Its geographical position makes it a very important knot for tourism, transport, and transit of people, merchandise, and goods. Wherever you go through the Balcans, it's almost certain that you will pass along this city.
